With a plethora of personality tests available today, hiring managers have more options than ever to gain a better understanding of potential employees. Aside from helping leaders understand their current teams, personality tests provide critical information on prospective hires. In this article, nine members of the Young Entrepreneur Council dive into the perks of using personality tests in recruiting or hiring scenarios. When assessing candidates, these tests reveal natural skills and talents, compatibility with company culture, work style, strengths and weaknesses, ideal working environment and role, true nature, leadership skills, temperament and workflow, and motivational triggers. While personality tests are not always 100% reliable, they can assist in understanding an individual’s frame of mind, their strengths, weaknesses, fears, expectations, and more. Overall, these assessments offer valuable insights into a candidate’s potential in real-life situations, while analyzing compatability with the company’s culture.
